With so much going on, we thought the new year was a great time to tell you a bit more about what Office & Co. has achieved in 2019 and our plans for 2020. And it starts with our new look.

Anthony Manas – Shaping Design-based Office Trends with Office & Co.

With almost three decades of experience in the interior design arena, Anthony Manas is well versed in eclectic, appealing and functional interiors. Fusing of his passion for aesthetics and property, Anthony founded and grew Manas Design and Detail from 1992, an interior design company specialising in creating striking work environments across retail, commercial, leisure and construction sectors. In a natural progression from this love, Anthony founded Cube Workspace in 2013, taking the workspace company from meagre beginnings to a multi-branch, multi-city office rental enterprise.
With an impressive six locations across Cape Town and Johannesburg, Cube Workspace attracted big brand tenants namely, Exxon Mobil, Expedia, Sony and Old Mutual. Last year, Anthony decided he was ready for his next challenge and that it was time to start something similar to Cube Workspace, but innovatively different.

The Dream and Journey that is Office and Co.

With his words ringing loud and clear when speaking about Manas Design, “A superior quality product is not a choice we give our clients, it’s a prerequisite on every project”, Anthony has the same vision for Office & Co.
Office & Co. opened its doors in February this year and much like Cube Workspace, successfully services office users, accommodating the start-up to the multinational company. With the recent success of Cube Workspace barely behind him, Anthony has his eye on a bigger prize and intends to inspire those around him by sharing his passion and unrelenting quest for excellence.
Office & Co. is poised to revolutionise the current workspace methodology, offering coworking and designer office spaces for all. Currently, one can rent space in the vintage-styled Kyalami branch in Johannesburg and have recently opened a branch in the Mother City on trendy Bree Street. If Kyalami’s success is anything to go by then Bree Street will do phenomenally well too. But, the dream doesn’t stop there for Anthony. He is looking to extend his entrepreneurial reach to include three more branches in Cape Town. And to help his dream become a reality, Anthony recently acquired The Bureaux, a creative office and desk space provider in Cape Town, with branches in Woodstock, Sea Point and the Waterfront, as well as a conference facility and a boutique event space. With a total of five unique locations around the country, Office & Co. is looking to open a revolutionary new space in Rosebank in 2020.
Anthony’s vision, with the acquisition of The Bureaux branches, is to add in some value-adds that give back to the spaces and tenants, as well as that essential X-Factor that breathes life into the spaces Anthony designs. With his rich interior design background, Anthony foresees offering a choice between designable custom-made office spaces and traditional serviced office rentals, however, all with a boutique feel. Anthony had this to say about the benefits of value-adds,
We will look at adding in engaging and welcoming reception spaces, pause areas, private meeting rooms and coffee shops (with exceptional coffee, of course!) You have to have out-of-this-world coffee in this entrepreneurial environment.”
Office & Co. aims to be the go-to space for satellite office teams, larger corporates and everything in between. They believe that they can create not only a place of excellence which professionals can be proud to call office, but also an inspiring location. Office & Co sees these spaces as a nurturing environment for start-ups to scale as well as a space where established corporates can flourish.

Who will benefit?

With a view to enticing entrepreneurs, start-ups, professionals and established businesses, Anthony envisions Office and Co. growing to the level where they can host networking events and community building get-togethers. In addition, as Cape Town has strong networking capacity, he sees the potential to include an element of co-working and incubator-style rental space too.

When will this all happen?

The newest Bree Street branch opened it’s doors as of 01 December 2019, with sights set on revamping the newly-acquired locations shortly after this. The first branch to be guided gently into the Office and Co. stylistic family and brand will be the iconic Sea Point branch, with the Waterfront branch following suit in early January 2020.

And, in the long term?

The long term picture for Anthony and his Office & Co. brand would see an expansion offshore – taking designer office spaces East. With the vision, passion and drive that sits behind this owner and his brand, Office & Co. is going to be the space to watch in 2020!
